Stop Spoiler Trailers
What are spoiler trailers?
Trailer-spoiler: trailer that shows you the whole idea of the movie or at least the most interessant and important parts.
When you see one of these trailers you feel like you already know what is going to happen, and a lot of times going to see the movie is like seeing the extended trailer…
I’m sure that some of you have seen some of these… and it’s really frustrating.
Let’s see this first example: The Avatar first Trailer.
Things we see in the trailer.
The main character goes to another planet (so far no spoiler)
he is cripled, so, somehow he’s going to get combined or converted into this blue tall aliens. He meets an alien girl, they fall in love, and they fight against the humans…
That’s what happens in the movie… change “combined or converted into” for “controls remotely”… which appeared in the second trailer.
Let’s take another example:
Everything is okay until minute 1:20… why would you show that?! The trailer until that moment says: “Uoooh! I’m a cool movie with a cool idea”. Enough to catch your attention and make you see it… why tell me whats going to happen next:
“The hunter becomes the pray… “
Come on! Now the main twist of the movie is gone… just to show me some more stuff. with a minute and half you should be able to see what the story is about without unveiling anything which is important in the argument…
I hope you understand my frustration in seeing a trailer that shows the best parts of a movie… I want to pay to get amazed not to see on a larger screen what I’ve already seen in the Spoiler Trailer of a movie…
So: BEWARE of the Spoiler Trailers…. And try to see only teasers… not trailers of more than 1:30 minutes…
